Testing Assessments

CogAT

The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a K–12 test assessing students’ learned reasoning abilities in the three areas: verbal, nonverbal and quantitative. The CogAT is often used in admissions decisions for Gifted and Accelerated school programs.

The CogAT is given to all first graders in November. The date will be announced in mid-October.

Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA)

The Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) testing dates for 2020 will be announced soon. If you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader, please be aware that we will be testing in May. It is essential that all students who are taking the SBA attend school these days. Please make doctor appointments on other days or before or after school. Your help in making sure your child is attending school well-rested, healthy, and fed on these days is appreciated.
