Testing Assessments

Smarter Balanced Assessments - The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) is a system of assessments aligned to Washington state standards in English language arts/literacy (ELA/literacy) and mathematics for grades 3-5. If you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader, please be aware that we typically test in May. It is essential that all students who are taking the SBA attend school these days. Please make doctor appointments on other days or before or after school. Your help in making sure your child is attending school well-rested, healthy, and fed on these days is appreciated. (This test has been cancelled for the 2020-21 school year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.)

CogAT - The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a K–12 test assessing students’ learned reasoning abilities in the three areas: verbal, nonverbal and quantitative. The CogAT is often used in admissions decisions for accelerated school programs. The CogAT is typically given to all first graders in November. During remote learning, the CogAT will be conducted on-line during the week of January 11, 2021. More information will be distributed by the teacher.
