Library Standards - Scope and Sequence
Our Library Lessons are based in a Scope and Sequence created by our district librarians. We strive to teach the outlines skills as much as possible within the context of lessons using content that links directly to topics taught in the grade level classroom. When effective, lessons are taught in collaboration with classroom teacher teams as well as in cooperation with our Technology Instructional Assistant, Linda Luna.
Kindergarten through 3rd grade students visit the library each week for one 30 minute library class. 4th and 5th graders have library class for 45 minutes each week. Due to the limited time allocated, students will not necessarily have instruction in each content area listed below, every year. Content of lessons varies depending on needs of the students, instruction that supports regular classroom instruction, new district resources, etc.
